SHANNON’S CORNER
Connect. Nurture. Grow.
Summer has been filled with meaningful conversations, unexpected connections, and moments of rest that have reminded me once again that ministry is often found in both the planned and the unplanned.Over the past few weeks, I have had the privilege of walking alongside a number of individuals through adult debriefs. Hearing their stories and seeing the Lord work in their lives is humbling and rewarding. I also had the joy of facilitating a debrief with a five and three year old Third Culture Kids (TCKs). Children experience transitions deeply, even when they don't always have the words to express them. Creating a safe, engaging space for them to tell their story, identify their emotions, and recognize God's presence in their journey is such meaningful work. I continue to be grateful for opportunities to care for the whole family during seasons of transition.
One of the greatest blessings this past month has been partnering with incredible ministries that share a heart for caring for those who serve others. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside Tributary Retreat Center, Refresh & Resound International, Safe Place Ministry and Interaction International. Each partnership reminds me that we are better together, joining our unique gifts and experiences to strengthen, encourage, and care for global workers and their families. Thank you to these organizations for inviting me to be part of the work God is doing through them.
In the midst of ministry, I was also able to step away for vacation. What a gift it was to spend time with dear friend, Rachel who I served with in Peru and her family, enjoying good conversations, laughing often, and simply having fun together. Being "off the grid" for a while allowed my mind and spirit to rest in ways I didn't realize I needed. There is something deeply refreshing about unplugging from the demands of everyday life and making room to simply be present.
One of the unexpected blessings was meeting new people along the way both in Kansas and in Arkansas. I continue to be amazed at how God weaves together conversations and encounters that encourage and remind us that His family is everywhere.
This summer also brought another wonderful gathering of our TCK Connect group. We shared stories, laughed together, and enjoyed a spirited game of Yahtzee! These moments of simple fun are far more significant than they may appear. They build community, create belonging, and remind these young people that they are not alone in their unique experiences.
On the coaching side of ministry, I recently celebrated with a client who reached the goal we had been working toward together. Watching someone grow in confidence, navigate change with greater clarity, and step into the next season of life is one of my greatest joys as a coach. The work is never about having all the answers; it's about creating space where people can discover them with God's guidance.
Another highlight of the summer has simply been reconnecting with friends who I served with in Honduras. The sweet conversations as we visited have filled my heart. These relationships are a reminder that encouragement is one of God's beautiful gifts. We all need people who know our stories, celebrate God's faithfulness, and walk alongside us through every season.
As I look back over these weeks, one word continues to surface: connection.
Connection with God through rest.
Connection with others through conversations and shared experiences.
Connection through coaching and debriefing as people process their stories.
Connection through friendships that nourish the soul.
Thank you for being part of this ministry. Your prayers, encouragement, and financial partnership make it possible for me to continue serving global workers, Third Culture Kids, and individuals navigating life's many transitions.
Help Us Cross the Finish Line
I am excited to share that, together, we have raised $60,475 toward our 2026 ministry budget! I am incredibly grateful for every individual, family, and church that has invested in this ministry through prayer and financial partnership.
We are now just $5,025 away from reaching our goal.
Would you prayerfully consider helping us cross the finish line? Whether through a one-time gift or a new monthly partnership, every contribution helps provide coaching, debriefing, member care, and transition support for individuals, families, and ministry workers around the world.
Your generosity allows this ministry to continue creating spaces where people can pause, process, heal, and move forward with renewed hope and purpose.
Thank you for believing in this ministry and for walking this journey with me. I couldn't do it without you.
