  SHANNON’S CORNER Remembering that our freedom comes at a cost, a ransom.  Thankful for all the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for the freedoms I have as an American!  Grateful for the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross for the freedom from sin and death I have in Him and eternal life! Safe Place Ministry has celebrated eight years this month.  It is so delightful to be able to partner and serve with the Safe Place team.  Being able to have fun and laugh together, sharing and consulting with one another, and a leadership team that seeks the Lord in all things.  One of the fun activities we did as a team was to come up with a flag to represent Safe Place.  This is the depiction of my team’s flag that we did.   SHANNON’S CORNER This month I have had the sweet pleasure and joy of celebrating Rylie in her milestone of graduating from high school.  A dear friend shared with me a number of years ago about a special gift she gives to her grandchildren when they graduate from high school.  I loved the idea, and it gave me a lovely way even though I was many, many years behind to sojourn with my niece, Rylie in sharing with her my life, stories, and the things God has been teaching me throughout her childhood and teen years.  I’m sure it is not quite the gift a senior graduating from high school would want to receive from her aunt nor am I sure if she will be able to read my handwriting.  But it has been enjoyable, rewarding, and at times sad and teary to go back through my years of journals and to remember, reflect, and share with Rylie some significant milestones in my life…personally, professionally, ministry, and spiritually.   SHANNON’S CORNER “Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.” – Chinese Proverb This month has been a month of learning.  It wasn’t something I planned on doing.  But God carved out this time for me and orchestrated it all even down to some recurring themes that have overlapped through the various avenues of learning.  Learning is in my top five strengths according to the StrengthsFinder assessment.  I want to share with you some of the treasures I have received.
