SHANNON’S CORNER June 2020 Do you feel like you have been doing all the right things, yet you have run smack dab into a 30-foot-high wall that seems impassable?  Maybe your wall is COVID-19 or the Black Lives Matter Movement or unemployment or fear or uncertainty??  Take a moment and name your wall that seems so impassable.  Joshua felt like he did all the right things that was asked of him and yet he walked into a 30-foot-high wall that stood in his way to get to the Promised Land.  God gave Joshua a very unexpected strategy which was to march around the wall once for six days and on the seventh day to march around the wall seven times and then blow the trumpets and have the people shout and the walls came tumbling down.  Maybe God has a very unexpected strategy for you to reach your end goal.  Are you willing to obey like Joshua?  Which lap are you in?  Don’t give up because even if you cannot ...

SHANNON’S CORNER April 2020 God is good all the time.  All the time God is good.  This is one truth of God that has been engrained into my core.  I don't have to think about it.  I don't have to process it.  I just know it's true.  In this time of uncertainty, I know that God is good.  It is who He is.  I can see His goodness and kindness in each an every day.  I want to share with you God's goodness that I have seen this past month. Kite flying God's goodness in his creation all around me.  It's spring time, seeing the robins, cardinals, blue jays, the tulips, the trees budding and some are blooming.  Seeing the bunnies hopping around and the squirrels jumping from branch to branch. God's goodness in allowing me to stay healthy, physically and emotionally by getting out and walking and just being in His creation.   God's goodness and kindness in growing me in my spiritual walk with Him through a ...

SHANNON’S CORNER March 2020 The impact COVID-19 is having in our lives has caused many to fear, anxiety, doubt, unknown and uncertainty.  A few weeks ago, in my Bible study we studied about fear and our worries.  There are many verses where God tells us, “Do not fear,” “Do not be afraid,” or “Do not worry,” because God knowing that we would be afraid, fearful, worried, anxious about many things in our lives.  Yet, God’s character is unchanging even in all this unknown and uncertainty that causes our fears and anxiety and worries to escalate.  God is omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, this COVID-19 did not take him by surprise.  Maybe we cannot see the big picture, but we know who does.  Take time to reflect back over these weeks and see where God’s kindness was to you and your loved ones.  Remember God’s character does not change even when it seems like everything around us is.
